Kölcsey Convention Center, with its 13,000m2 area, is second to none among conference centers in Eastern Hungary. The designer of the center visualized such an ”omniscient” building that can be the perfect ambience for an international conference as well as for a cultural event of any kind. A complex where the individual spaces may be connected or separated at will, while the wide variety of halls of various sizes would satisfy any and all technical demands whatsoever.

The designer’s dream became reality in February 2006, when the construction of the new Kölcsey Convention Center was finally completed, located exactly at the site where once stood the house of the author of the Hungarian national anthem, Ferenc Kölcsey.

Upon entering the building of the center, you notice the ubiquitous presence of glass, wood, and stones, which creates a genuine Scandinavian atmosphere. While the enormous sized windows let the sunlight freely flow in from outside, the ample wood paneling, made of birch, maple and okoumé, radiates a feeling of cleanliness, warmth, and friendliness
