The submarine was established in 1991 by the Jerusalem Foundation in collaboration with the Jerusalem Municipality, with a donation from the Florsheimer Foundation and Marty Peretz.

The goals of the Yellow Submarine are
to encourage and promote young and young musicians in their spirit in every field and style of music.
To be a home, a meeting place and an informative center for musicians.
Provide rehearsal rooms, a concert hall and a recording studio.
Initiate and produce performances by well-known artists and initiate and produce music festivals.

Over the years, the submarine has initiated, developed and produced many programs and projects, including:
a regional music major for 5 IHL, a sound school, a youth ensemble project, the "incubator" project for local ensembles, international jazz festivals, an international music exposure festival in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs , Non-standards project and more - you can read about all of these in Submarine + here on the website.
