Godset is an old warehouse previously owned by the national railway company – DSB.
In front of the house lorries unloaded their freights and this was then loaded into train waggons on the other side of the building.
In 1995 DSB moved this acitivity to Taulov – a surburb to Fredericia. This made it possible for Kolding Kommune to buy the building.

Godset as we see it today contents of a live scene, a café, rehearsel rooms, demo-studio, youthcouncil and a room for various NGO´s.
The reason for these activities was founded back in 1993 where a local NGO called Rock´In House, was working for establishing rehearsel rooms and a livescene in Kolding.

After proving to the local politicians their needs and desires a political compromise known as the ”Rock´In Chair settlement” was approved in the city council. This settlement made it possible to establish Godset aswell as the chair museum at Trapholt – so everybody was happy either if they wanted to sit and look or stand and listen.

The Live Scene:
The live scene is equipped with state of the art equipment – both in sound and lights. The room contains space for up to 700 standing people or 300 seated.
All acitivity here is made by various NGO´s – mostly rythmic music organisations due to the fact that rytmic music is the political priority at the live scene. All together there is about 150 events every year. The organisation KAF, which is an umbrella-organisation for all NGO´s with conection to Godset, made a contract with Kolding Kommune making KAF the one organisation which decides who is alloved to use the live scene. KAF is also in charge of licens to sell beers and wine and therefor also takes care of administrative work concerning the live scene. KAF also has a businesscontract with Kolding Kommune which means that Kolding Kommune provides KAF with assistance in connection with buying goods, preparing budgets and everything else concerning administrative work.

The Café:
It is a small café with room for aproximately 75 persons. Its often used for workshops, clinics and jamsessions for local musicians. But also small events, receptions releaseparties etc. Also here Godset has nice P.A-system which often allows the NGO´s to safe a little money when they are hiring bands due to the fact that these don´t have to bring their own equipment.

The Rehearsel rooms:
Godset has 12 reheasel rooms. In all rooms their are P.A.-systems – meaning powermixer and speakers. Their are 9 rooms in which aprox. 4 bands is rehearsing on a permanent basis and the last 3 rooms is for various bands.
The 3 rooms for various bands are totally equipped, meaning that there is drums, guitars, bass, amplifiers, keyboard, mic´s etc. This allows you to enter the room with only sticks for playing the drums –the rest is allready here !
In order to use these 3 rooms you have to book the rehearseltime. This is done through our webpage – www.godset.net (have a look). Every member is equipped with a magnetic card which allows them in the rehearselbuilding 24 hours a day. Offcourse they can only enter the rehearsel room when they have booked the time.

The price for all this is danish kroner 130,00 per months if you are over tge age of 18 and half of this price if you are under.

”Loftet”
This room – on top of the rehearsel rooms – is for NGO´s and likewise. It is possible to have 150 persons up here – either for a lecture, a dance or other kinds of smaller events.
The room is also a close part of the live scene and often used as a relaxing room for musicians and artists playing at the live scene.
