Avicii was second biggest Google Trend in 2018
Avicii had a life and a creative voice that touched millions, and that is apparent now more than ever as Google has revealed Avicii as the second biggest trending search term of 2018.

The Electronic dance icon died in late April of an apparent suicide, and it sparked a global conversation about mental health, as well as the emotional and physical toll the music industry can take on artists.

Avicii was second only to the World Cup, followed by Mac Miller in third, who died in September, and Stan Lee in fourth, who died in November. Lee was followed by the film Black Panther, a work spawned of his creation.

Google also released a list of the hottest trending topics across entertainment mediums. These acts weren`t the most organically searched, but showed the quickest growth over hot periods of interest. Swedish House Mafia unsurprisingly topped that list, as the reunited trio announced a new tour and music to come in 2019. The list rounded out with legacy acts including David Guetta, Armin van Buuren and Fatboy Slim, with Marshmello holding it down for younger artists at the No. 10 spot.
