First Year Anniversary for the Verti Music Hall
The Verti Music Hall opened last year in Berlin on Friday 12 October. Now 43 concerts, 10 show events, 28 corporate events, nine days of e-sports, two boxing nights, one festival and 125,000 spectators later, the owner and operator, Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG) looks back on a successful first one.

"We have established ourselves as a versatile venue," says Michael Hapka, Vice President and Managing Director of Anschutz Entertainment Group Operations GmbH. "Depending on the format, size and fan group, the Verti Music Hall has provided the right setting for a wide variety of music styles. Our thanks go to the promoters and artists who filled the Verti Music Hall with life in its first year; they have placed their trust in us and enriched the first year of this concert venue with each of their acts. We would also like to thank our naming rights partner, Verti Versicherung AG, whose commitment has enabled this venue to exist".

"Over the last year the Verti Music Hall has left a lasting impression on its guests from all over the world with an innovative sound experience that is unique in Germany. At the same time, the Verti Music Hall captivates a colourful mix of events that appeal to almost all demographics. Innovation, diversity and quality are attributes that also describe us as a digital insurance company. That`s why we are proud to be the namesake of Verti Music Hall," says José Ramón, CEO of the insurance company Verti Versicherung AG.

It all started 12 months ago with Jack White. Since then, concerts from a broad spectrum followed, among others by George Ezra, Deadmau5, Gloria Gaynor, Hozier, John Cale, The War on Drugs; Cypress Hill, Howard Carpendale, Matthias Schweighöfer, Helmut Lotti, Architects, Bastille, Slash, Kamasi Washington, Disturbed, Capital Bra, The Raconteurs, Erykah Badu, Beth Hart, The Roots, the Beach Boys and the K-Pop group Stray Kids.

E-Sports, Festival and Corporate Events

Whilst shows and concerts made up a majority of this year’s events, Verti Music Hall’s first year presented a broad event portfolio. In March, the C2C: Country to Country Festival was held for the first time and will return in 2020. In addition to the Verti Music Hall, alongside other venues surrounding Mercedes Platz, including the UCI Luxe Cinema, the Bowling World and the 260 Grad bar, were involved in the three-day festival. In addition, organisers made use of the hall`s flexibility for press conferences, trade fairs, meetings and conventions, but also for public viewings and a fan zone for the Handball World Cup. In autumn, the StarLadder Major set up camp for two weeks in the Verti Music Hall and the neighbouring Mercedes-Benz Arena. On Saturday 12 October for one week, League of Legends, also an e-sports brand, will conduct the preliminary round of their World Championships.

Before 2019 comes to a close Verti Music Hall will support concerts by Emeli Sandé, Till Brönner, The Lumineers, Ricky Gervais, among others and on Friday 22 November the venue will host the highly anticipated premiere of the International Music Award, which will be presented for the first time in seven categories. In total, Verti Music Hall will end the 2019 event year with over 100 events complete and more than 40 events already scheduled for 2020.
