Jennifer Lopez has announced the cancellation of her highly anticipated arena tour, which was set to be her first in five years.
The multi-talented singer, actress, and dancer did not provide a specific reason for the decision but assured fans that it was a necessary step.
The tour, originally scheduled to commence on June 26 at the Kia Center in Orlando, Florida, and conclude on August 31 at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, faced setbacks prior to its cancellation.
In April, Variety reported that Lopez had canceled seven dates due to poor ticket sales, including shows in Cleveland and Nashville. Subsequently, the tour was rebranded from "This Is Me… Now" to "This Is Me… Live | The Greatest Hits."
In a statement posted on May 31 on her website, Lopez addressed her fans, known as "JLovers," expressing her sorrow: “I am completely heartsick and devastated about letting you down. Please know that I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t feel that it was absolutely necessary. I promise I will make it up to you and we will all be together again. I love you all so much. Until next time…”
Live Nation, the tour`s promoter, also released a statement explaining the cancellation, citing Lopez`s need to spend time with her children, family, and close friends.
