The Town Toyota Center (TTC), located in Washington state, is working to recover $250,000 after falling victim to a fraudulent booking scheme involving a fake agent who claimed to represent the pop supergroup Imagine Dragons.
According to a statement from the TTC, the venue was introduced to an individual posing as James Whitting of Wasserman Music, Imagine Dragons` official booking Agency. The introduction came through Harmony Artists Inc., the TTC’s long-time booking agent of 16 years.
The TTC paid a $250,000 advance via wire transfer on August 23 to secure a concert date for Imagine Dragons in Wenatchee on June 21, 2025.
However, roughly three weeks after the payment, the TTC discovered that the agent was an imposter. The venue immediately contacted Harmony Artists Inc., the bank, and the insurance company. Efforts are now underway with the insurance company to recover the funds.
While the venue anticipates a full reimbursement, it has announced plans to review its booking procedures to prevent similar incidents in the future. The TTC is also cooperating with law enforcement to track down the fraudster responsible for the scam.
