Eurosonic Noorderslag (ESNS), the showcase festival for emerging European music, will highlight Italy as its focus country.
Each year, ESNS spotlights the emerging music talent of a European nation. In 2025, it will feature sixteen acts from Italy as part of its "Focus on Italy" initiative.
The artists, spanning a range of genres, will perform at the festival in front of industry professionals, media representatives, and music enthusiasts.
The Italian performers include Bassolino, BigMama, COMRAD, Daniela Pes (MME Awards nominee), Ele A, España Circo Este, Evita Polidoro, Indian Wells, James Jonathan Clancy, Justin Adams & Mauro Durante, Kharfi, Kyoto, LA NIÑA, okgiorgio, Post Nebbia, and R.Y.F.
Performing at ESNS provides the acts with the opportunity to join the European Talent Exchange Program, increasing their chances of being booked at major festivals across Europe.
The ESNS Conference will also emphasize Italy, offering insights into the country`s music industry. A panel titled "Everything You Need to Know About the Italian Music Market" will provide guidance on navigating Italy`s distinct music landscape, covering topics such as streaming habits, radio airplay, and the role of local festivals. Speakers include representatives from Italia Music Export, Tridentmusic, and Puglia Sounds.
Another panel, "Growing Internationally in Your Native Language," will examine how artists like Måneskin, Stromae, and Rosalía achieved international success without adopting English in their music. This session will explore the strategies of musicians who stick with their native languages while expanding globally.
The Italian focus at ESNS25 is supported by organizations such as the Italian Trade Agency, Italia Music Export, and Puglia Sounds. Italian festivals participating in the European Talent Exchange Program include Apolide Festival, Arezzo Wave, and Ypsigrock Festival.
