Finnish developer SRV, in collaboration with the City of Hyvinkää, has announced plans to build a €45.6 million multipurpose arena in Hangonsilta, Finland.
The new venue will be located less than 30 miles from Helsinki.
The facility will serve the dual purposes of hosting sports and events while providing new facilities for the Laurea University of Applied Sciences’ Hyvinkää campus.
The project, with SRV’s contribution estimated between €32 million and €40 million, will be developed through a collaborative project management approach. The development phase is set to begin in early 2025, during which SRV and its partners will finalize details for construction, with plans for completion by the end of 2026.
Kimmo Hyry, SRV’s Business Premises Director for the Helsinki Metropolitan Area, emphasized the project’s significance, stating, "We’re excited to launch the Hyvinkää Arena. The two-phase collaborative model is ideal for a facility with varied user needs." The arena will provide essential space for local schools, daycares, and sports clubs, as well as major events.
The arena marks another significant project for SRV, adding to its recent portfolio, which includes the Nokia Arena in Tampere and other multi-use facilities across Finland.
