Connecting the live music industry
Italy's live concert industry made a significant economic impact in 2023, generating nearly €1 bill
Italy`s live concert industry made a significant economic impact in 2023, generating nearly €1 billion, according to the latest report from the Federazione Industria Musicale Italiana (FIMI).
The study, conducted with Deloitte and industry groups, found that the overall direct contribution of the music sector reached €3.08 billion.
When adding indirect contributions, such as related business activities and services, the total economic value of Italy’s music industry rose to €4.32 billion.
Live concerts emerged as the single largest segment, valued at €967.4 million, making up nearly a third of the direct total. The second largest segment was dance and musical entertainment, which brought in €780.5 million, underscoring the broad appeal and diversity of Italy`s music-related offerings.
FIMI CEO Enzo Mazza (pictured) commented on the findings, saying,“The Italian musical ecosystem is a very relevant element in the field of the cultural industry. In this context, the value of musical recording as a key element in the industry must also be considered, around which increasingly relevant economies are generated thanks to the technological innovation.”
