Danish music venue, Radar, has announced the appointment of Martin Aagaard Jensen as its new daily manager, effective January 1, 2025.
With over 10 years of experience in the music industry, including significant time as a booker at the Aarhus based venue Radar, Jensen’s appointment comes after a period of restructuring at the venue.
Radar’s board chairman, Morten Constantin Lervig, highlighted Jensen’s extensive background, stating, “Martin has many years of experience and has held various positions at Radar over the years. As program manager, he was instrumental in shaping the venue’s artistic direction, and his work has been widely praised for being both bold and responsible in developing the musical ecosystem. His strong analytical skills and business acumen are essential for Radar’s future.”
Jensen’s appointment follows a challenging year for the venue. In May 2024, Radar lost its status as a regional venue after more than 20 years of participation in the government’s regional venue program. This change brought financial uncertainty and restructuring efforts. Despite these challenges, Radar is optimistic about its future as a fee-supported venue moving into 2025.
“I’m excited to continue contributing to the music scene in Aarhus and Denmark as a whole,” said Jensen. “Radar has a long history built on decades of dedication to strengthening Denmark’s music culture. Moving forward, I will focus on ensuring that our organization stays strong and adapts to the changing times, while also preserving the sustainability of the musical pipeline.”
