Australian music festival Splendour in the Grass will not return in 2025, organizers announced last week.
In a statement shared on social media, Splendour and its organizers, Secret Sounds, explained that the festival “needs a little more time to recharge” but promised to return “bigger and better when the time is right.”
The statement emphasized that the team is working on new projects for music fans, encouraging them to stay tuned for future announcements.
Secret Sounds` parent company, Live Nation, expressed full support for the decision, noting that the focus remains on supporting artists, the industry, and fans through upcoming initiatives.
This follows last year’s cancellation of Splendour 2024, which occurred two weeks after the lineup—featuring Kylie Minogue, Future, and Arcade Fire—was announced. Organizers cited “unexpected events” at the time, offering refunds to ticket holders. Rising costs and lower-than-expected ticket sales were also noted as challenges by the Australian Festival Association.
Splendour has only taken place twice in the 2020s, with cancellations in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the hiatus, organizers assure fans of future developments and a commitment to delivering quality music experiences.
