Slated to open in the first quarter of 2027, the 4,000-capacity indoor venue will be a new player in Austin’s legendary music scene, offering artists and fans an intimate yet high-energy experience with top-tier sound, sightlines, and amenities.
The purpose-built venue will anchor River Park, a 109-acre mixed-use development in Austin’s rapidly growing Riverside neighborhood, just minutes from downtown and Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. Developed by Presidium and Partners Group, River Park is designed to be an urban oasis for Austin, blending residential, office, and entertainment spaces with parkland and public gathering areas.
AEG’s venue will serve as its cultural heartbeat, hosting an eclectic mix of concerts, performances, and community events – from Austin’s homegrown musical talent to global touring acts to music’s next big thing. The venue will feature approximately 65,000 square feet, located at the Northwest corner of East Riverside Drive and Crossing Place.
“This project will strengthen Austin’s rich musical legacy, create new opportunities for artists, fans, and the local economy,” said Mayor Kirk Watson. “We look forward to welcoming AEG Presents to our city.”
Designed for both world-class performances and unforgettable events, the venue will feature state-of-the-art sound and lighting, luxury suites, VIP seating, and best-in-class hospitality – all with a front-row feel no matter where you’re standing. The artist experience is just as carefully considered with spacious, artist-friendly dressing rooms, green rooms, and top-tier production capabilities.
“We have always wanted to build a venue from the ground up in Austin, but we wanted to make sure the timing and location were right, and we had partners aligned with our vision,” said Shawn Trell, AEG Presents’ executive vice president and chief operating officer. “We’re grateful to Mayor Watson and the City of Austin for their support.”
Beyond live music, the venue will be a premier space for private events, including corporate functions, weddings, conferences, awards shows, and fundraisers. With striking architecture, flexible reception spaces and an atmosphere infused with Austin’s creative energy, it will offer a dynamic setting for celebrations of all kinds.
“We’re thrilled to bring a new venue to Austin, a city that lives and breathes live music,” said Robin Phillips (pictured), vice president of AEG Presents Southwest. “Our mission is to bring something new to the city that both honors the legacy of Austin and feels completely unique. Whether it’s a headlining show from a national touring act, or a local artist’s breakthrough moment, we want this space to feel like home for musicians and fans alike.”
As part of River Park’s broader vision, the venue will also embrace Austin’s commitment to sustainability and thoughtful urban development, integrating with the neighborhood while bringing new music, culture, and entertainment opportunities to the east side.
Details on opening dates, first performances, venue name and ticket sales will be announced in the coming months.
