Danny Hayes has officially stepped down as CEO and partner of festival promoter Danny Wimmer Presents (DWP), marking the end of a decade-long collaboration with founder Danny Wimmer.
Hayes announced the news via LinkedIn saying. “After 10 incredible years, Wimmer and I have made the difficult decision to part ways. This wasn’t easy, but we both knew the time was right. Wimmer has bought out my shares and will continue leading DWP into the future. I have nothing but love, respect, and appreciation for him, and I know he will continue to do great things..”
Hayes joined DWP in 2015 following a long tenure as Wimmer’s attorney and business advisor. Under his leadership, the company grew into one of the largest independent live music producers in the U.S., expanding its festival lineup and enhancing operations in talent buying, sponsorship, branding, and in-house food and beverage services.
In 2020, DWP partnered with Ron Burkle’s Yucaipa Companies, fueling further growth in key markets. Highlights included the launch of the GoldenSky country festival in Sacramento and the continued expansion of Louisville’s Bourbon & Beyond and Louder Than Life festivals.
This year, DWP festivals drew over 1 million attendees, with Bourbon & Beyond setting a single-day record of 60,000 fans during Zach Bryan’s headlining performance.
