Kirk Sommer, Senior Partner and Co-Head of Contemporary Music & Touring at WME, was honored with the Bobby Brooks Agent of the Year award at this year’s Pollstar Awards.
Sommer oversees a stacked roster that includes some of the biggest names in music today—Adele, Arctic Monkeys, Billie Eilish, Benson Boone, The Killers, Weezer, Teddy Swims, Kygo, Nine Inch Nails, Lola Young, Sam Smith, and Hozier—all of whom have seen major touring milestones in recent months.
Sommer’s path to the top of the music agency world began in the WME mailroom. He was promoted to partner following the 2009 merger of William Morris and Endeavor, and was named global co-head of music in 2015.
His journey started even earlier—as a freshman at NYU, where he began booking small shows, setting the stage for what would become a defining career in the live music business.
