Superstruct Entertainment, one of the world’s largest live music festival groups, has appointed Alex Mahon as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Mahon, who made history in 2017 as Channel 4’s first female CEO, will take over from co-founder Roderik Schlosser this autumn. Schlosser will step into a non-executive director role on Superstruct’s board.
The leadership change comes less than a year after Superstruct was acquired by global investment firm KKR in a reported £1.3 billion deal.
The company, founded in 2017 by Creamfields creator James Barton and Schlosser, now owns a portfolio of more than 80 festivals across 10 countries.
Mahon expressed her enthusiasm about joining Superstruct, calling it a “rare kind of business – high-growth, multi-territory, and built by founders who truly understand how to create unforgettable live experiences.”
“There’s a clear sense of purpose here,” Mahon said in a statement. “Connecting people through culture, creativity, and the joy of shared moments.”
Andrew Fisher, chair of Superstruct Entertainment, added, “We are delighted to welcome Alex to Superstruct at this pivotal moment of our development. Her exceptional track record in the creative sector and experience leading complex organisations through growth and transformation make her the ideal leader as we continue to scale our business globally. As we further strengthen our position as one of the leading live entertainment companies in the world, Alex’s vision and leadership will help us deliver even more extraordinary experiences for our millions of fans around the world.”
