The European Arenas Association (EAA) has expanded its network with the addition of two new members: Nokia Arena in Tampere, Finland, and Arena Milano, currently under construction in Milan, Italy, bringing the EAA’s membership to 41 arenas across 19 countries.

EAA President Olivier Toth welcomed the new venues, describing them as part of a “next generation” of multi-purpose arenas. “Their addition not only strengthens our association but reflects the evolving landscape of world-class venues in Europe,” said Toth. “These arenas bring innovation, versatility, and a forward-thinking approach that complements the wealth of experience within our network.”

Nokia Arena opened in 2021 and is a leading venue in Northern Europe with a capacity of 15,000. Located in the heart of Tampere, the arena serves as home to top Finnish ice hockey teams Tappara and Ilves, and hosts a wide range of events, from international sports tournaments to major concerts.

Marko Hurme, CEO of Nokia Arena, expressed pride in joining the EAA: “As Finland’s premier multipurpose arena and one of Europe’s most modern sites, we’re eager to contribute to knowledge-sharing, particularly in the area of ice hockey, where we have deep expertise.”

Arena Milano, set to open later this year, is being built by CTS Eventim and is poised to become Italy’s largest and most advanced indoor arena.

Located in Milan’s Santa Giulia district, it will have a capacity of 16,036 and serve as the official ice hockey venue for the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

Luca Martinazzoli, General Manager of Arena Milano, noted that joining the EAA offers valuable opportunities for collaboration as the venue prepares to open. “The EAA offers a platform to share experiences and knowledge that will help grow our industry and enhance visitor experience,” he said.

The arena is designed for large-scale entertainment and sports events, with the goal of setting a new benchmark for venues in Italy and beyond.

With the inclusion of these two high-profile venues, the EAA continues to strengthen its role as a key network for Europe’s leading arenas.
