Connecting the live music industry
Live Nation Entertainment has announced the appointment of Richard Grenell to its Board of Director
Live Nation Entertainment has announced the appointment of Richard Grenell to its Board of Directors.
Grenell, recently appointed by former President Trump as president of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, has also held roles as U.S. Ambassador to Germany, Acting Director of National Intelligence, and Presidential Envoy for both Kosovo-Serbia negotiations and special missions.
Antitrust advocates quickly linked Grenell’s appointment to Live Nation’s ongoing efforts to challenge the upcoming lawsuit against Ticketmaster.
“Ticketmaster just put Trump advisor Richard Grenell on its board of directors to get out from under the Antitrust Division’s lawsuit against the company,” Matt Stoller wrote on X. Stoller is the research director for the American Economic Liberties Project, a nonprofit group that has urged the Trump administration to continue the lawsuit.
Board Chairman Randall Mays said Grenell’s experience would provide a valuable perspective. Grenell, in a statement, highlighted the role of live performances in uniting communities and supporting local economies.
