The British Country Music Festival (TBCMF) will return to Blackpool’s Winter Gardens from 29 to 31
The British Country Music Festival (TBCMF) will return to Blackpool’s Winter Gardens from 29 to 31 August 2025, showcasing a diverse lineup of country, Americana, and roots artists with a strong emphasis on UK singer-songwriters.
Now in its sixth year, the indoor metropolitan festival has established itself as a key event for emerging and established country artists in the UK, while also welcoming international talent.
Headlining the 2025 edition are American country artist Brittney Spencer, UK actor-musician Sam Palladio, and Northern Irish singer-songwriter Janet Devlin. Spencer, who will top Saturday’s bill, will make her international headline debut at the festival. Palladio will headline on Friday and Devlin on Sunday.
Founded by producers Martin and Marina Blore of Lancashire-based Fit The Bill Limited, The British Country Music Festival was launched to provide a platform for UK artists in a genre often dominated by American voices. The festival celebrates songwriting and musicianship while recognising the historical links between British folk traditions and American country music, particularly through the migration of Anglo-Celtic settlers to the Appalachian region.
TBCMF has built a reputation for highlighting underrepresented voices and subgenres within the country and Americana landscape. A strong advocate for gender equity, the festival supports the PRS Foundation’s Keychange initiative and consistently features a gender-balanced lineup. Since its inception in 2019, TBCMF has presented more female headliners than male, setting it apart from many comparable festivals in the U.S.
The event is held across four indoor stages within the historic Winter Gardens complex in Blackpool, with The Empress Ballroom serving as the main stage. Previous performers include Wildwood Kin, Graham Nash, Ward Thomas, Nathan Carter, and Kezia Gill. The festival attracts around 5,000 attendees and is supported by Visit Blackpool and the Association of Independent Festivals.
In addition to showcasing international acts like Spencer—whose career includes collaborations with Beyoncé, Jason Isbell, and Willie Nelson—the festival provides an important platform for homegrown talent. Sam Palladio brings experience from both the U.S. and UK music scenes, while Janet Devlin’s recent move into country rock reflects the genre’s growing reach and evolution.
TBCMF concludes the UK country and Americana festival season, offering audiences a curated experience that blends traditional roots with contemporary sounds. With its commitment to supporting UK artists and expanding the genre`s audience, the festival continues to play a vital role in shaping the future of British country music.
