Connecting the live music industry
Kings Of Leon have cancelled most of their scheduled UK and European summer shows following a serious injury to lead singer Caleb Followill.
In a statement posted to social media, the band revealed that Followill suffered a shattered heel and underwent emergency surgery. Recovery is expected to take at least eight weeks under the care of orthopedic specialists, ruling him out of all performances through June and July.
"Kings of Leon are updating fans that Caleb Followill has recently sustained a serious injury, shattering his heel and requiring a significant emergency surgery, that will prevent him from traveling and performing," the band said.
Followill also shared a personal message on social media, apologising to fans and expressing disappointment over the cancellations.
Despite the setback, the band is hopeful they can return to the stage for appearances after July 12, including the Come Together festival in Newcastle and Portsmouth’s Victorious Festival.
