Boston Calling, one of the premier music festivals in the U.S., will take a break in 2026, organisers announced on June 20. The event is scheduled to return in 2027, with dates confirmed for June 4–6.
The festival, traditionally held in late May, did not provide a specific reason for the pause.
In a statement, organizers thanked fans for their continued support: “Thank you for making this year’s Boston Calling such a wonderful experience. As we look ahead, Boston Calling will take a short break in 2026 as we gear up for an exciting return on a new weekend.”
They added that updates would follow and expressed appreciation for the festival’s role as a staple of the city’s summer music scene.
Launched in 2013, Boston Calling originally took place twice annually before shifting to a once-a-year format. The upcoming gap year will mark its first since a two-year pause in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
