A new strategic agreement between DF Entertainment, Live Nation, and Estadio Luna Park S.A. will see Buenos Aires` historic Luna Park undergo a comprehensive renovation, with plans to reopen the venue in late 2027.

The iconic venue, which was declared a National Historic Monument in 2007, will be modernized and expanded while preserving its distinctive façade and original architectural features. The project aims to position Luna Park as a state-of-the-art destination for global live entertainment in time for its 100th anniversary in 2032.

First opened in 1932 as a boxing stadium, Luna Park has evolved into one of Latin America’s most renowned cultural landmarks, hosting performances by Frank Sinatra, Luciano Pavarotti, Mercedes Sosa, and others, as well as significant sporting and religious events. Despite its rich history, the venue has not undergone a major renovation since the mid-20th century.

Selected through a private bidding process, DF Entertainment and its parent company Live Nation will lead the redevelopment. The initiative is expected to increase capacity and enable the venue to host around 150 events annually, including both international and domestic acts. Buenos Aires, one of the largest cities in Latin America, has historically had a limited number of large-scale entertainment venues, and the updated Luna Park aims to address that gap.

The project will be overseen by Live Nation’s global venue development division in collaboration with Argentine architecture and engineering firms.
