Connecting the live music industry
A new music venue named Quarters is set to open in Brighton later this year, following a full redevelopment of the site formerly known as The Arch.
The venue is being launched by electronic event promoters AMAAD (A Man About A Dog), known for their work on projects such as Junction 2, LWE, The Prospect Building, and Boundary Festival.
Quarters will focus on electronic and live music programming and is intended to serve as an accessible, multi-purpose cultural space. The project involves a full refurbishment of the venue, originally home to the club The Zap, which has played a significant role in Brighton’s nightlife history.
AMAAD founders Paul Jack and Will Harold said, “We have a long track record of transforming ideas into culturally significant projects, and we’re very excited about Quarters. We aim to showcase world-class talent while also providing a platform for collaboration with Brighton’s diverse creative community. We’ve always loved Brighton’s independent attitude and see a great opportunity to build a forward-thinking venue that supports a wide range of culture in the area.”
Programming at Quarters will be delivered in partnership with Ghostwriter, a live music promoter involved with The Prospect Building in Bristol.
The venue plans to host a range of events, from club nights to live performances, featuring a mix of established and emerging talent. Local promoters and programmers will also be invited to contribute to the schedule.
AMAAD says the new space will aim to reflect Brighton’s existing music and cultural landscape while introducing new elements to its live and electronic scenes. The company has also indicated a longer-term plan for sustainability and ongoing collaboration with local businesses and artists.
