Connecting the live music industry
The Steve Miller Band has canceled its entire 2025 U.S. tour, citing growing concerns over extreme weather conditions.
The tour, which was set to begin on August 8 in Bethel, New York, and run through 31 cities before wrapping up in Anaheim, California on November 8, will no longer take place. The band made the announcement on Wednesday via social media.
In a statement, the group said the decision was made in response to ongoing risks posed by “extreme heat, unpredictable flooding, tornadoes, hurricanes and massive forest fires,” adding that these conditions presented unacceptable risks for audiences, band members, and crew.
“You make music with your instincts, you live by your instincts, always trust your instincts,” the band said, signing off with: “We hope to see you all again. Wishing you Peace, Love and Happiness.”
The five-member group — led by founding frontman Steve Miller and featuring Kenny Lee Lewis, Gordy Knudtson, Joseph Wooten, and Jacob Petersen — is known for classic rock hits including “The Joker,” “Abracadabra,” and “Fly Like an Eagle.”
