MUSEXPO has announced that Kirk Sommer, senior partner and global co-head of music at WME, will receive its International Music Person of the Year award.
The 26th edition of the global music business conference and showcase takes place in Burbank, California, from March 22–25, 2026, featuring the Global Sync & Brands Summit, the A&R Summit, and other industry events.
Sommer will be honoured on March 24 during a VIP Awards Gala Luncheon at the Castaway in Burbank, attended by industry executives, artists, and colleagues from around the world. The State of California, Los Angeles County and the City of Burbank will also present official proclamations recognising his contributions to the music industry.
Ahead of the ceremony, Sommer will take part in a keynote conversation reflecting on his career, which began in WME’s postroom in 2000. Over nearly 25 years, he has represented artists including Adele, Billie Eilish, Hozier, The Killers, Sam Smith, Nine Inch Nails, and the late Amy Winehouse.
In 2025, Sommer was named Pollstar’s Agent of the Year and inducted into New York University’s Hall of Fame. He and his family also support philanthropic causes focused on mental health, children’s welfare, and healthcare.
Sat Bisla, president & founder of A&R Worldwide and MUSEXPO, said: “Kirk M Sommer has not only shaped the careers of some of the world’s greatest musical voices but has also helped redefine what it means to be a leader in today’s ever-evolving music industry.
