Muziekgebouw Eindhoven Names Jack Pisters as General Director

Dutch venue Muziekgebouw Eindhoven has appointed Jack Pisters as its new general director, effective September 1. He succeeds Edo Righini, who stepped down on July 1.

Pisters brings extensive experience from across the Dutch and international music industry. A graduate in Guitar Performing Music from the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, he has worked as a musician, cultural entrepreneur, and innovator in music education. His career includes international performances as a guitarist, as well as contributions to albums, soundtracks, and productions.

He is the founder of the pop department at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and co-founder of the Amsterdam Electronic Music Academy (AEMA). He also played a key role in developing several academic programs, including a master’s degree and business curriculum.

In addition to his work in education, Pisters serves as artistic director of the Amsterdam Guitar Heaven Festival and is closely involved with Muziekgebouw Eindhoven’s BRIDGE Guitar Festival. He is also chairman of the EEGA Foundation, which presents the Sena European Guitar Awards.

His recent roles include interim manager of Popronde and interim director of Popspot. In 2024, he received the IJzeren Podiumdier Lifetime Achievement Award from the Association of Dutch Pop Venues and Festivals (VNPF) for his contributions to talent development and pop music education.

Commenting on his new position, Pisters said he looks forward to building on the reputation and success of Muziekgebouw Eindhoven in collaboration with the Supervisory Board, staff, and partners.
