Connecting the live music industry
AEG Presents has announced plans for a new large-scale music festival at Roundhay Park in Leeds, set to debut in summer 2026.
The new event, titled Roundhay Festival, is being developed in partnership with Leeds City Council and presented by American Express, which also sponsors AEG’s BST Hyde Park in London.
According to the organizers, the format will be similar to BST, combining major headliners on weekends with a mix of emerging and established acts, alongside a free weekday program for the local community.
Roundhay Park, one of Europe’s largest urban parks, has a long history of hosting major concerts, with past performances from artists such as Madonna, The Rolling Stones, Michael Jackson, U2 and Ed Sheeran.
AEG Presents stated that the festival will focus on both cultural and economic impact, highlighting opportunities for local suppliers, staff and businesses. A free midweek program will include arts, culture and wellbeing activities, while also providing a platform for local talent. Sustainability will be a central part of the festival’s operations, with commitments to responsible energy use, waste management and partnerships with local food vendors.
Jim King, CEO of AEG Presents UK and European Festivals, said the launch was an opportunity to build on Roundhay Park’s legacy as a concert venue:“This landmark event gives us the opportunity to bring world-class artists and world-leading production to even more fans, while building on the park’s incredible musical history.”
American Express, as headline sponsor, will offer card members presale access and on-site benefits.
The first headliner for Roundhay Festival will be announced soon, with the full lineup to follow.
