22 UK Festivals Receive Skiddle–AIF Support

The UK’s independent festival sector has received a significant boost, as 22 grassroots events have been selected for a new support initiative from Skiddle and the Association of Independent Festivals (AIF).
The scheme, designed to champion and strengthen the independent festival ecosystem, offers successful applicants a free one-year AIF membership alongside a tailored marketing and development package from Skiddle.
The membership provides access to AIF’s national network, industry expertise, training, and support services.
The Skiddle package includes a featured listing in the platform’s festival guide, editorial and content support, website development where required, paid media assistance, and dedicated account management.
Recipients will also receive an online event-management course from Event Masters, a brand consultation session, and a complimentary Songkick mailer to aid promotion.
Festivals benefiting from the scheme include Caribbean Rocks in Birmingham, Street Eats ’n’ Beats Festival in Chelmsford, Priory Live in South London, and The Brit Fest in Cheshire, alongside 18 others.
Anthony Prophet, Commercial Director at The Brit Fest, said the initiative arrives at a crucial moment for the grassroots sector and provides “real, tangible support” for independent events.
Founded in 2008, the AIF now represents 171 festivals with a combined ticketing capacity of more than 1.35 million. Its members benefit from advocacy work, training, and sector-wide initiatives such as Safer Spaces at Festivals. The association is currently lobbying for a new tax relief scheme for grassroots music festivals.
AIF CEO John Rostron welcomed the partnership, noting that the scheme arrives as the organisation opens new commercial pathways for its members and continues its work to secure industry-wide tax relief.
