UK based Electric Group has announced plans for Electric Studios, a newly redeveloped live music venue and creative hub on Leadmill Road in Sheffield, UK.
The £2 million transformation will deliver increased capacity, upgraded production infrastructure, and a subsidised creative workspace aimed at strengthening the city’s live music ecosystem.
The venue will reopen in Spring 2026 with a 1,050-capacity setup for concerts and 1,450 for club nights, joining Electric Group’s existing portfolio of mid-size UK venues, including Electric Brixton, Electric Bristol, and NX Newcastle.
Programming will be led by Electric Group Head of Music Mike Weller, who is working with national and independent promoters, labels, and brands to curate a diverse schedule of gigs, club events, and multidisciplinary shows.
The refurbished space will feature a new d&b audiotechnik PA system, upgraded lighting and production facilities, new bars, improved stage sightlines, enhanced backstage amenities, and full accessibility compliance. The redesign also includes improved audience flow, new staircases, and expanded first-floor facilities.
“Sheffield is a special city, and with Electric Studios we’re committed to a substantial programme of investment, refurbishment, and curation,” said Electric Group Co-Founder Dominic Madden. “Our vision respects the building’s cultural heritage while putting artist and fan experience at the centre.”
Head of Music Mike Weller added: "This is one of the most exciting projects I`ve been involved in, bolstered by the positivity and support from local bands, DJs, and promoters.
"The Electric Studios Sheffield music programme is built on our demonstrable passion and success in delivering an eclectic mix of live music, club, and wider events across our venues. I hope to collaborate with the best in the business, from local and up-and-coming future stars, to established and international teams and artists, in the mission to make this venue a must-book and must-attend destination for promoters, producers, performers and music fans."
Electric Studios is expected to generate over 100 jobs ahead of its opening next spring.
