Connecting the live music industry
Polish promoter, manager and TV producer Andrzej Marzec has died at the age of 81.
Marzec, regarded as one of the key figures in the development of Poland’s modern live music sector, passed away on 25 November 2025.
Marzec began his career at the state-owned Polish Artists Agency PAGART, where he spent two decades working in the artist exchange division before helping to bring major international acts behind the Iron Curtain for the first time. His work enabled artists such as Elton John, Depeche Mode, Leonard Cohen, Tina Turner, Iron Maiden and Metallica to perform in Poland during the 1980s.
Following the political transformation of the early 1990s, Marzec founded his own company, AMC, and went on to promote concerts by Bob Dylan, The Cure, Foo Fighters, Faithless, Massive Attack, Ice-T & Body Count, Iggy Pop, David Byrne, Patti Smith, Camel, Toto and Peter Gabriel, among many others.
Widely respected for his vision, determination and pioneering approach, Marzec played a central role in shaping the Polish live music market during a period of significant change.
