Live Summit Middle East, a new international gathering for the live entertainment industry, will debut in Abu Dhabi from 7–8 December 2026.
Curated by the International Live Music Conference (ILMC) and Pollstar, hosted by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi and produced by Ethara, the summit aims to provide a strategic platform for knowledge-sharing, collaboration and partnership-building across the global live sector.
500 Industry Leaders Expected
The two-day summit will convene around 500 senior leaders and decision-makers from across the live entertainment ecosystem, including promoters, venue operators, agents, festival organisers, technology companies and policymakers.
The programme will feature keynotes, panel discussions, roundtables and curated networking sessions, focusing on the key opportunities and challenges shaping the global live business, with particular emphasis on the Middle East’s rapidly expanding market. Organisers say the region’s recent growth in touring activity, venue development and cultural programming has created momentum for a dedicated annual industry platform.
In addition to conference sessions and business matchmaking, the event will incorporate skills development and mentorship initiatives aimed at emerging professionals. A new Live Summit Awards programme will also be introduced to recognise excellence across the regional live entertainment sector.
Positioned Around Abu Dhabi Grand Prix
The inaugural edition will take place immediately following the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, positioning the summit at a time when international stakeholders from live entertainment, sport, media, hospitality and brand partnerships are already in the region.
Delegates will receive access to the Grand Prix and its associated concerts, alongside a cultural immersion programme on 9 December curated by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, designed to showcase the emirate’s heritage, contemporary landmarks and cultural ambitions.
ILMC and Pollstar Collaboration
The summit marks the first formal collaboration of this scale between ILMC and Pollstar. ILMC has operated as a key international meeting point for the live music business for nearly four decades, welcoming around 3,000 professionals annually from more than 60 countries. Pollstar, meanwhile, produces Pollstar Live! in North America and publishes industry data and analysis for the global touring market.
In a joint statement, ILMC head Greg Parmley said the rapid expansion of shows, venues and audience demand in the Middle East has created the need for “an annual moment to reflect, exchange and celebrate.”
Pollstar Editor in Chief Andy Gensler described the Middle East as “one of the most dynamic growth markets in live entertainment today,” citing touring growth, venue expansion and the region’s evolving festival and cultural landscape.
Ethara to Produce Event
Production of the summit will be led by Ethara, the Abu Dhabi-based live events company behind the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and a range of major concerts and sporting events. Organisers say Ethara’s in-market experience positions the company to deliver a conference tailored to the needs of the international live sector.
Live Summit Middle East builds on ILMC’s recent Middle East-focused programming in London and signals a broader effort to establish Abu Dhabi as a central convening point for the global live entertainment industry.
