German Festival Postponed Due to Production Constraints

The Freiburg edition of the Heroes Festival in Germany has been postponed from 2026 to September 10–11, 2027, according to organisers.
The urban music festival, which was scheduled to take place at the Freiburg Trade Fair Center, will move its next edition back by one year due to production-related challenges.
Organisers said that during the final planning phase it became clear that the technical and production requirements needed to stage the event in 2026 could not be met at the level of quality and reliability expected for the festival.
Lukas Apfelbacher, organiser of the Heroes Festival, said the team spent several weeks reviewing potential alternatives, including different timelines and operational scenarios, before deciding to postpone the event.
“After the strong advance sales and the great success in 2025, this decision is particularly difficult for us,” Apfelbacher said. “We accept the responsibility and would like to thank Messe Freiburg for the constructive and solution-oriented exchange. Together, we look forward to a strong anniversary edition in 2027.”
The 2027 event will mark the fifth edition of Heroes Festival in Freiburg.
Freiburg Wirtschaft Touristik und Messe Gesellschaft (FWTM), which operates the venue, confirmed its support for the revised timeline. Ilka Rossmann, Head of Trade Fairs at FWTM, said the organisation appreciated the early coordination and open dialogue around the postponement and looks forward to continuing the partnership in 2027.
