A new electronic music festival, Aura, is set to launch at one of Italy’s most historic sites, the Parco Archeologico di Segesta in Sicily, on May 1–2, 2026.

The two-day event will take place at the site’s ancient Doric temple, originally constructed around 416 BC by the Elymians. The structure, which remains incomplete due to the outbreak of war during its construction, stands as one of the best-preserved examples of ancient Greek architecture in Italy.

Organised by Unlocked Events, the inaugural edition is expected to host approximately 4,000 attendees. The festival will be staged across the rolling hills near Castellammare del Golfo, where the archaeological site also includes a historic amphitheatre overlooking the Sicilian countryside.

In a statement, the promoter positioned Aura as a concept-driven event combining electronic music with cultural heritage:

“Aura was created to forge new connections between people, music, art and places through an experience that focuses on perception,” the promoter said. “In an accelerating world, Aura chooses to slow down: it does not follow trends, but seeks meaning, depth and balance. It is about electronic music dialogues with the history of Segesta, while people and their stories intertwine in a shared space.”

The debut lineup will focus on house, minimal and techno, featuring artists including Francesco Del Garda, Oshana, Onur Özer, Quest, Josh Baker and Traumer.
