According to its annual report, the Danish venue sold 234,606 tickets and presented 733 artists during the year.

The programme reflected an international booking profile, with 61% of artists from abroad and 39% Danish acts, highlighting VEGA’s role as both an export-facing stage and a platform for domestic talent.

Store VEGA, the venue’s main hall with a capacity of around 1,500, accounted for the majority of activity, hosting 146 events and drawing 181,259 guests from 183,980 tickets sold. Lille VEGA (approx. 500 capacity) staged 118 events with 37,783 attendees, while Ideal Bar (approx. 250 capacity) hosted 105 events and welcomed 12,809 guests. A further 49 events outside the main stages contributed an additional 12,787 guests.

The year also saw a leadership transition, with long-serving CEO Steen Jørgensen stepping down after 14 years and succeeded by Anders Wahrén, who joined from Roskilde Festival. The change forms part of a broader organisational adjustment aimed at strengthening strategic coordination across the venue’s operations.

Despite the strong figures, VEGA highlighted a number of structural challenges affecting independent venues. The organisation pointed to rising touring costs, increasing expectations for live revenues, and continued consolidation among multinational operators across both recorded and live music.

The report also notes reduced support for talent development from traditional industry stakeholders, placing additional pressure on venues to balance commercial performance with their role in artist development. At the same time, VEGA flagged concerns that emerging and mid-level artists risk being squeezed in a more commercially driven environment.

Operating from Folkets Hus in Copenhagen, VEGA continues to position itself as a multi-room venue supporting different stages of the live pipeline, from grassroots acts to international touring artists.

Looking ahead, the venue expects to maintain a similar level of activity in 2026, while focusing on strategic development, cross-venue coordination and sustaining its role within a rapidly evolving live music landscape.
