US live entertainment company Live Nation has appointed Jonathan Shank as Senior Vice President of Global Programming, a newly created role focused on expanding the company`s family entertainment offerings and non-traditional immersive live experiences.
Based within Live Nation`s touring division, Shank will report to Omar Al-joulani, President of Touring, and will work on developing and producing a broad range of live entertainment formats across international markets, including projects spanning music, film, sports and other sectors.
Shank joins Live Nation after serving as CEO of Terrapin Station Entertainment, the US-based company he founded in 2020 following his time at Red Light Management. Through Terrapin Station Entertainment, he has produced touring productions and immersive experiences based on well-known intellectual properties including Disney Junior, Gabby`s Dollhouse, Deal Or No Deal and Pinkfong`s Baby Shark.
According to Shank, he will continue to own and operate Terrapin Station Entertainment alongside his new position at Live Nation and will retain its existing projects. He has, however, sold his interest in event producer Black Ink to Sony Masterworks.
Commenting on the appointment, Shank said the role presents an opportunity to help build Live Nation`s presence in family entertainment and immersive live experiences, an area he believes offers significant growth potential. He added that consumer demand for experiential entertainment continues to increase globally.
