Connecting the live music industry
Mexican artist Calle 24 has cancelled the final seven dates of his first US headline tour after his US work visa was unexpectedly revoked.
The 23-year-old artist, whose real name is Diego Millán, announced the cancellations on Monday, saying the decision was beyond his control and had been made in order to comply with US immigration rules and procedures.
“My team and I believe it is essential to act responsibly and in full compliance with all applicable requirements,” Calle 24 said in a statement also signed by his label, Street Mob Records.
The cancellations affect the remaining dates of his Eterno Tour at Payne Arena in Hidalgo, Texas; The Underground in Charlotte; Tabernacle in Atlanta; House of Blues in Lake Buena Vista; Aztec Theatre in San Antonio; 713 Music Hall in Houston; and Riviera Theatre in Chicago.
Calle 24 had already completed nine US shows during the previous three weeks before the tour was cut short.
In a subsequent video message, the artist thanked fans who had attended the completed dates and apologised to ticket holders affected by the cancellations.
