Natascha Rekelhof, professionally known as Natascha Wright, was born on July 18th 1975 in Billinton, a small village in Surinam, South-America. Her Mum is South-America, her father is Dutch. The family subsequently relocated to the Netherlands.

Having completed her studies at the Academy for Light Music in Hilversum, The Netherlands, she toured with Haddaway all over the world simultaneously she had a number 1 hit in Canada called "Party of one", produced by Nosie Katzmann (Known from Culture Beat's Mr.Vain) and she sang 2 of DJ BoBo's number 1 hits - "Freedom" and "Love is the price".

Following Melanie Thornton's death in a plane crash in 2001, German hit-producer Frank Farian signed Wright as the new lead singer for La Bouche, but this stint was rather unsuccessful, having resulted in a low-charting hit single, All I Want.

After touring with La Bouche, Wright started writing with Mary and Chris Applegate who wrote Jennifer Rush's "Power of love" later covered and popularized by Céline Dion. Subsequently, she moved on from dance-oriented music to neo-soul and jazz.
