Appliance are a three piece band consisting of David Ireland (drum kit and keys), James Brooks (guitars, keys, voice) and Michael Parker (bass, keys and voice).

Their sound is reminiscent of bands like Television, Wire, The Velvet Underground, Neu!, Stereolab, Kraftwerk, Can, New Order, Spiritualised and Talking Heads.

In the late nineties they released three 10" e.ps on Surveillance, Plastic Cowboy and Enraptured, before signing with Mute Records in 1999. The have released three albums and a six track e.p to date: Manual, Six Modular Pieces, Imperial Metric and Are you Earthed?. In 2010 RROOPP released a three CD retrospective called Re-conditioned, which combined the three early 10" e.p.s, the four BBC Peel Sessions and the demos, vinyl B sides and download only tracks.
