The newcomers from Munich have been awarded with the third place at last year’s german „Rock- und Poppreis 2006“. Since three years SUGARCAINE, who are international themselves, have been rocking the stages of Europe and crowding fans from all over the continent and beyond.

The melodious and honest anglophonic songs on their first album „No Stars Above“ give an insight into the heads of smart young twens who are fighting for their range in the world of music.

The band’s style could be best discribed as an independent rock with postrock influences and is most likely to be compared to such bands as “Kaiser Chiefs“ and “Coldplay“.
Strong, dramatic, retro-oriented songs with melancholic melody lines and a guitar-based sound. You can listen to partly beaty sections and then again laminar segments, which are accompanied by catchy english lyrics and chorus themes. The male lead vocals can be powerful and loud, but also gentle and purring. Electronic elements and acoustic instruments add a special taste.
