Jonas Gardell, born 2 November 1963 in Eneby, Sweden, is a gay Swedish novelist, playwright, screenwriter and comedian.
Gardell's first novel, The Passion Play (Passionsspelet), was published in 1985. Since then, he has written some ten novels, including The Growing Up of a Comedian (En Komikers Uppväxt), which became a TV series
Gardell is one of Sweden's most famous stand-up comedians and probably the country's most well-known gay man.
