London-based electronic music promoter and venue operator LWE has announced plans to launch a new 7,000-capacity riverside venue, Ironworks, with a limited programme of electronic music events scheduled for autumn 2026.

The venue is being developed in partnership with placemaking organisation PROJEKT and will open in October at the former Thames Ironworks and shipbuilding yards in London. Ironworks forms part of the wider Thames Wharf site and will include an open-air terrace overlooking the River Thames.

According to the companies, the venue is designed as a large-scale industrial space for electronic music and cultural programming, with a focus on immersive production and preserving elements of the site’s historical character.

LWE, part of London promoter and venue group AMAAD, has operated events at venues including Turnmills, Great Suffolk Street Warehouse and Tobacco Dock, and was also involved in the development and operation of Printworks London.

AMAAD/LWE founders Will Harold and Paul Jack said the project continues the company’s long-standing approach of repurposing industrial buildings for cultural use.

“We`re thrilled to welcome Ironworks to the AMAAD family,” they said in a joint statement. “AMAAD has a long history of bringing unloved buildings back to life as vital parts of London`s cultural fabric. Great Suffolk Street Warehouse, Tobacco Dock and Printworks each became significant landmarks in the city`s music and night-time cultural landscape and we`re determined that Ironworks will be no different.”

They added: “We want this to be a space that reflects the full breadth of London`s creative community – live music, club culture, and cultural programming that goes beyond the expected.”

The companies said the venue is being developed with new sound, lighting and visual production systems designed to work within the industrial architecture of the building.

Ironworks is expected to host six shows during its initial 2026 programme, with line-up details due to be announced in June. The events are set to feature electronic music artists in what organisers described as a “raw warehouse setting”.

As part of the launch programme, Museum of Youth Culture will present a visual installation focused on the history of warehouse culture in London.

LWE and PROJEKT also said the venue plans to work with local networks, independent businesses and creative communities through initiatives including dedicated ticket allocations for local residents, opportunities for independent food traders and local employment linked to the venue’s operations.
