Severe weather forces cancellation of Bonnaroo Festival
Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival has canceled the remainder of its 2025 event due to severe weather conditions in the region.
According to a statement on the festival’s official website, the National Weather Service forecasted “significant and steady precipitation” for the area, raising concerns over deteriorating camping and exit conditions at the Manchester, Tennessee site.
The four-day festival, held on a 700-acre farm, began Thursday and was scheduled to run through Sunday. Thursday’s performances included headliner Luke Combs, along with Dom Dolla and Insane Clown Posse. However, organizers issued an evacuation notice on Friday as storms moved into the area, halting further events. Friday’s lineup had included Tyler, the Creator, Glass Animals, Megadeth, and Rainbow Kitten Surprise.
Scheduled acts for the weekend also included Olivia Rodrigo, Vampire Weekend, Hozier, Glorilla, Queens of the Stone Age, and Avril Lavigne.
“We are beyond gutted,” organizers said in the cancellation notice. “But we must make the safest decision and cancel the remainder of Bonnaroo.”
Originally launched in 2002, US based Bonnaroo ran annually until 2019, with a hiatus during the COVID-19 pandemic before resuming in 2022.
Festival organizers are directing attendees to evacuation protocols and refund information available on the event’s website and social media platforms.
“We have put our hearts and souls into making this weekend the most special one of the year,” the statement continued. “We cannot express how crushed we are to have to make this decision.”
