Connecting the live music industry
Only Good People (OGP), a new artist management, publishing and creative development company focused initially on dance and pop music, has launched with operations across London and Stockholm.
The company is headquartered at a network of canalboat studios in West London and has also established a presence in Berlin through a publishing joint venture with Sony Music Publishing Germany.
OGP was founded by Giovanni Damiani, Head of Business Development; Sebi Bohnenberger, Head of Operations; and board member Jay Pidgeon. Martina Pemac serves as Managing Director and is based in Stockholm.
Alongside its management activities, the company has launched Only Good Songs (OGS), a publishing division operating through the newly established Sony Music Publishing Germany joint venture. The partnership will focus on signing and developing songwriters and producers.
Sony Music Publishing partnership
Kristina Altinger of Sony Music Publishing said: “What stood out to us from the very beginning was Only Good People’s genuine commitment to creativity and long-term artist development. They have created an environment where songwriters and producers can truly grow, collaborate, and reach their full potential. We’re excited to partner with the team behind Only Good Songs and help create new opportunities for the next generation of creative talent.”
The wider OGP structure also includes Only Good Records and Only Good Studios, giving the company activities across management, publishing, recorded music and production.
Management and publishing rosters
Its management roster includes Goodboys, Fast Boy, James Carter, ODNP, Nu Aspect, Aya Anne, Conor Ross, MOLI, songwriter and producer YK Koi and songwriter and vocalist Josh Grimmett. Artists represented by the company have credits involving acts including MEDUZA, David Guetta, Megan Thee Stallion, Tiësto, James Hype and Armin van Buuren.
The Only Good Songs publishing roster includes BRIT Award-winning songwriter James Newman, Giovanni Damiani, Reece Taylor and producer-songwriter Dom Lyttle, also known as Decoy Tunes.
Focus on long-term artist development
Pemac said the company had been structured to bring management, publishing and creative development closer together as the economics and development cycle around songs and artists continue to change.
“Songs break faster, earn slower but live longer than they ever have,” she said. “Only Good People was built as infrastructure to meet the new demands: management, publishing and creative development under one roof.”
Partnership with Purple Wall
OGP is also working in strategic partnership with artist management company Purple Wall, whose roster includes Claptone, Patrick Topping, Vintage Culture and Korolova. The companies said the relationship is intended to connect songwriting and artist development with touring and the international live music market.
