Mysteryland Festival to Pause in 2026
The long-running Dutch electronic music festival Mysteryland will not take place in 2026, with organizers announcing plans to return the following year with a redesigned format.
The festival, produced by ID&T and part of the Superstruct group, cited sharply rising production costs as the main reason for the temporary pause.
According to ID&T, overall production expenses have nearly doubled since the pandemic, with increased prices for materials, catering, and staffing placing added pressure on the festival`s operations. In addition, evolving audience expectations are prompting the organizers to rethink the event’s overall design and experience.
“When we moved from Ruigoord to the Floriade site in 2003, it marked a moment of reinvention,” a festival spokesperson said. “That move allowed us to grow Mysteryland into the festival it is today. We don’t intend to leave this iconic location behind, but it’s exciting to reimagine the event from the ground up. Mysteryland has represented innovation since 1993, and we believe that spirit will continue for decades to come.”
Mysteryland 2025 is still set to go ahead from August 22 to 24, with performances scheduled from Paul van Dyk, Hardwell, Eric Prydz, Marlon Hoffstadt, Kölsch, Cosmic Gate, Adriatique, and others.
The festival, which typically welcomes up to 110,000 visitors, is also promising an expanded production featuring drones, fireworks, pyrotechnics, 3D visuals, and laser shows.
