Friendly Fire adopts capacity-based fees for support acts
Dutch booking agency and promoter Friendly Fire, which operates as part of the FKP Scorpio group, will introduce a new compensation structure for support acts based on venue capacity.
The initiative is intended to improve expense reimbursements for emerging artists.
The move follows ongoing discussions within the Dutch music sector around fair pay and the long-term sustainability of musicians’ careers. Friendly Fire has been actively involved in these discussions through Platform ACCT, including participation in its fairPACCT programme, which brings together industry stakeholders to improve working conditions and develop practical tools such as fee guidelines.
The newly adopted support-fee scale was developed within this sector forum and has industry backing. Friendly Fire will implement the model from the start of 2026 and plans to monitor and evaluate its impact over time.
Pien Feith, Head of Dutch Bookings at Friendly Fire says "To date, there is no official guideline for the remuneration of support acts in the Dutch live sector. In practice, this often got stuck at an amount that has not grown for twenty years. With this new structure, we want to invest in talent during an intensive development phase and contribute to sustainable growth,".
The capacity-based compensation model will apply to Dutch and Belgian artists represented by Friendly Fire when performing as support acts in the Netherlands. An advisory table outlining recommended reimbursements based on venue capacity is available via Platform ACCT.
Further details will be discussed during a panel session at Eurosonic Noorderslag on Saturday, 17 January 2026, from 11:30 to 12:30 in the artists’ foyer at Oosterpoort in Groningen.
